Email Blueyonder aka Virgin media

Postby bob » Tue Jun 12, 2012 11:41 am

Hi All,
i have been having problems with topic reply email notifications,
i have traced the problem to spam filters on my Web based email,
i do not use this tool, i always use my SeaMonkey pc based tool, i can only surmise others may have flagged the sites response emails as spam, and virgin have applied this to the filter database,
so if you are having problems with response emails, please could you let me know,
Bob

Bob

As you know i am also on blueyonder/virgin and i get a copy of the emails sent to that account as well as my normal one, and they are not blocked, so I presume its something todo with individual settings in their system, or the account type you have with them

Hi Steve, as i say, i have never been onto web based mail and added steve-dowd to any block list yet it was added to their list,!
and last week if you recall i had to forward an email to you from SHE as emails to you was bouncing back to her, but not for me,
all i am saying is that something had changed, i first asked you, you said all is ok, so then i checked my system out,
including all my filters and block lists, and even java scripts, all is ok with mine,

so today i went looking at Virgins server the best i could, and found the problem,
i am getting response emails now,
so i am just asking the forum now if anyone else is having the same problem.

Bob, I don't know what to say

There are approx 200 people on the forum who use blueyonder/virgin, and some of them are regular posters, so I know that they must be getting the reply emails

The email from SHE I cannot explain why it bounced, even more so, because it was sent to my dowd domain email, which isn't anything todo with the Newton Website email server?

I think thats maybe just a clitch in the web, which you already having a problem, just associated the two issues as the same

There is nothing that should come through to you from the forum as steve-dowd

The email address is the same one I use all the time steven.dowd@newton-le-willows.com

I get loads of emails all the time, from virginmedia and blueyonder, ntlworld etc etc, so I cannot see how it can be banned, it must just be an individual setting somewhere.

Thats ok, at least as you say there was probably a glitch somewhere, methinks more Blueyblunder than anything else,

Ok, but if anyone has any similar problems please post it here, it can only help Steve to monitor the site.
